Hi everyone,
This is awesome! The key word here is volunteer No matter where we go there is a sense of people tired of the same ole thing. People are opening their eyes and are actually volunteering themselves to spread the word about Matt. On the other hand, there's Tyler who is a paid college student making a buck, recording Matt at every event I've attended. Would love to see you there to support Matt.
Our regular meeting is Feb 4th but I'll send a reminder.
Thanks,
Gloria

Seven States Join Grassroots Effort to Engage Republican Primary Voters in Kentucky

Lexington, KY, January 13, 2014. Grassroots Conservatives from Kentucky and surrounding states met in Lexington on Saturday January 11 to finalize plans for an unprecedented “Get Out the Vote” effort to elect conservative U.S. Senate candidate Matt Bevin. The project, named “The Unbridled Liberty Tour” is comprised of individuals from Kentucky as well as Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Virginia, and West Virginia. These motivated citizens will be engaging Republican voters prior to the May 20 primary election to make the case for replacing Senator Mitch McConnell who has occupied the Senate seat since 1984.

Volunteers from the region are prepared to make the sacrifice of time, effort and gas money to speak with Kentucky voters over the next several months. According to Katherine Hudgins with the Rutherford County 912 project in Tennessee, “ Not only have the citizens of Kentucky been negatively affected by the abysmal votes of Senator McConnell, but so have the citizens of Tennessee and every other state. McConnell’s votes for TARP, NAFTA, No Child Left Behind and a host of other bills have consequences that limit the liberties of all Americans. We have come here from Tennessee the “Volunteer State” to assist our fellow citizens in retiring Senator McConnell “

Ed Bell, an attendee at Saturday’s gathering from Ohio sees the multi-state primary effort as a positive development, “Grassroots volunteers have erased the imaginary boundaries that keep us from organizing to help a viable conservative Senate candidate like Matt Bevin. The Chamber of Commerce may spend millions in Kentucky to protect their relationship with a big government incumbent, but there is no substitute for hundreds of liberty-minded citizens knocking on doors and offering voters a better choice.”

Scott Hofstra, Spokesperson of The United Kentucky Tea Party sees more at stake for conservatives than just challenging an entrenched Washington politician, “This election will be a bellwether for the heart and soul of the Republican Party. When Matt Bevin wins this election, it will send a strong signal to the Republican leadership that the era of the Progressive, big government GOP is over and that Conservatives will once again hold the Republican leadership accountable.”

The Unbridled Liberty Tour expects the number of volunteers to swell leading up to a major Tour event on Saturday February 8 at the METS Center, 3861 Olympic Boulevard, Erlanger, Ky 41018. The event begins at 1:45 p.m. and the final speaker is expected to finish at 4:00 p.m. The event will be hosted by national radio and television personality Doc Thompson. Prominent regional and national speakers will highlight a rally of grassroots volunteers from numerous states. Organizers have invited conservative Kentucky primary candidates including Senate candidate Matt Bevin to address the crowd as well as national organizations that will provide materials highlighting the failures of DC leadership on transformative issues such as the debt, unemployment and Obamacare.
